About NEER

The ARC Network for Early European Research (NEER) is one of the Research Networks funded by the Australian Research Council for the period 2004-2009.

NEER's aims and objectives, and its research themes, were articulated in its funding application.

In 2005, NEER established its governance structure, appointed its central staff, and implemented a framework for funding and sponsoring events in its field of research.

It also established a programme for postgraduates and early career researchers.

NEER has also been working to establish its programme of digital initiatives, and has provided access to a suite of specialist databases from international publishers.

NEER has issued a series of presentations, publications and news bulletins, and has held various meetings to consult participants and inform interested parties.

The funding application in 2004 was based on an earlier Web site prepared with the assistance of an ARC Seed Funding grant. The original Web site has been archived here as a PDF file (3.3 MB).
